What is NFC?
NFC (Near Field Communication) is the same technology used for contactless payments. When a compatible phone is held close to the tag, it reads the information stored on it.
Will it work with any phone?
Most modern iPhones and Android phones support NFC. Compatibility can vary by model and settings, and thick phone cases can sometimes get in the way.
Do I need an app?
No. Neither you nor the person who finds your tag needs to download anything.
Does the tag need a battery or charging?
No. NFC tags are powered by the phone that taps them, so there's nothing to charge.
Is it a GPS tracker?
No. Tag Safe tags don't track location. They give whoever finds your pet, child or belongings a quick way to contact you.
Will I know where my tag was found?
If the finder chooses to, they can press Send location on your profile and their location is emailed straight to you. It's never shared automatically.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Your profile, contacts and location emails are all included with your tag.
How do I set up my tag?
Every tag comes with its own unique code. When your tag arrives, redeem the code to create your Tag Safe Profile and add your details. You don't need to give us any contact details when you order.
What happens when someone taps my tag?
Your Tag Safe Profile opens on their phone. Children's and Medical tags show a contact page with up to 5 contacts, so the finder can try the next person if the first doesn't answer.
How many contacts can I add?
Children's and Medical tags hold up to 5 contacts. Other tags show your own contact details plus a backup contact.
Can I change my details later?
Yes, any time. Just update your Tag Safe Profile – you keep the same tag.
I've lost my unique code. What do I do?
Email us at info@tagsafeonline.co.uk with your order number and we'll help.
What information should I include?
Only what you're comfortable with anyone who finds the tag seeing. We recommend leaving out your home address. Please make sure everyone you add as a contact is happy to be listed.
How long does delivery take?
We normally prepare orders within 1–2 working days, then delivery takes around 2–3 working days. UK delivery is £3 per order.
Can I return my tag?
